Last week, I received a PM from Oscar11 asking if I would like (free) a re-handled a Semogue 1800. He knew I liked boars and it had been sitting unloved on his shelf. It arrived last night and I gave it a go this morning. It is a purple and gold acrylic handle that feels great in the hand. I really like the mix of hair and the tips are just getting to the feathery softness stage. I am a horrible photographer, but wanted to say thanks to Steve and show everyone my new brush. It will definitely be in my regular rotation.

That's awesome. The 1800 is my favorite of the many Semogue boars I've tried. That is one unique 1800!

Wonderful! Looks like it came from the den of a wizard like Dumbledore from Harry Potter! Biggrin

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen, but they really should be directed towards Steve. This is the second time Steve has gifted me a piece of his handiwork. He really is a good guy.

The brush isn't quite that bright, but I wouldn't have been able to capture any of the pattern without the flash. While I like all the ones I have tried, I have come to much prefer the mixed grade 70/90 or 75/90 over the pure 90% tops in the Semogue brushes. When they are nicely broken in, they have a light feathery feel to me while retaining enough backbone for a very pleasant lathering experience. This 1800 is well on it's way and will be a nice companion to my 2000.
