Mike Perry posted this in another section and I thought it was worthwhile for the Straight Razor Section. What I would give for a shop like this in my hometown.

Thanks Mike for posting this and I hope you don't mind that I copied and pasted it over hear.

Next time I'm in the mother land (Dublin is my mum's birth place) I will be visiting and experiencing a straight razor shave at Waldorf Barbershop Hairdessing and Shaving for Men (site is currently experiencing problems).

Conversation with Liam Finnegan conducted by the gentleman Obie

Let me know if you want any touristy stuff to do, especially stuff off the beaten track...

Enjoy the Emerald Isle Cheers

Take care, Mike

Interesting how the barber holds the razor. Looks like he holds it on the shoulder instead of the shank.

Any idea what he is rubbing on his hands at around 2:00? Alum so he can stretch the skin better?

Thanks for the videos. I just put them on my Facebook page.

I love the old timey looking shops.

That would be my guess.

Very interesting. I've never had a professional shave and would like to experience it sometime.

Hi Johnny

I don't mind in the slightest Smile

Fingers-crossed my mum will be popping in there in a couple of months time (she goes back home twice a year) to see if there's anything she can get me...

Take care, Mike

Johnny,
Thanks for the video. It had been a while since I had seen that. Good stuff. Also, Liam Finnegan is such a delightful person. What a gentleman. I can imagine the pleasure of getting a shave in that delightful barbershop. Good show, my friend.
Stay well.

Thank you, Johnny. It took me a while to land it, with the initial research and then a score of e-mails going back and forth. I would have loved to do the interview in person, but circumstances were not such that I could do that. Still, Liam was a delight to chat with.
Stay well.
