I just got back into my home after spending 40 minutes in a t-shirt and boxers in damp 50 degree weather with gusty winds, not very chilly but a bit nippy and I'm getting over a cold. I stepped outside for just a moment to secure some deck chairs..when I finished with the chairs and turned around to come back in and I hear "click" and there is my cat Loki (shown in my avatar) standing on his hind legs with his head slanted to the side, pawing at the storm door latch...he always gets agitated if I don't carry him outside with me and apparently he has discovered how to get even.

I ended up having to break the handle/latch to get back inside..guess I'll be making a trip to the hardware store tomorrow. Angry

Doh! Of course he shows you his new trick when you're out in your boxers. You'll have to name the next cat something like "Angel" Wink

That is really funny (since I wasn't the one locked out).

We have a Loki at our house

Here seen sleeping between the legs of my specially trained military dog (and that guy has titanium theeth, but so nice to everything that lives in the house).

Hehe, yeah that was the basis for his name, he was a rambunctious kitten...Loki just seemed a proper name.
I should have been expecting it, he is terrified to go outside on his own, but he loves for me to carry him outdoors in my arms so he can look around and smell the strange scents in the air.

When I do not take him out with me, but leave the main door open, he paws at the storm door latch, having watched the humans for a while he knows it holds the key to opening the door.
I never really considered the fact that he might flip the locking mechanism..especially at 12am and locking me out in my undies. Tongue

Even though it was annoying and embarrassing, thank you for sharing this and giving me my laugh of the day. I sincerely hope Loki is out of the "dog house" by now. Wink
