I can't believe this amazing product does not get more attention. Easily in my top 5. Maybe even top 3. It can be easily loaded with a badger or a boar brush. It has a very creamy texture and I have found normal water/soap ratio is adequate to achieve a very slick and protective lather.
The smell is of sweet almond similar to other traditional Italian soft soaps like P.160, Cella and Vitos. But the scent is more subdued and not as sweet as the others. Still good enough to eat though! After the shave is where you really get added benefits as well. It contains shea butter and lanolin which work very well for me. Your skin will stay extremely soft for the entire day. I also have the balm that pairs with the cream and it is fantastic as well. (another thread on that one). If you haven't given it a try, do yourself a favor and do so! Esp if your an almond fan. I prefer this even ahead of the revered P.160 and Cella. Yes I said it!

A great shaving cream/soap, for sure! I also think that it is way better than Cella and P160.

It is made by CIBE Laboratori in Italy - the same maker of the Dovo creams, that are very much alike AK1869. So, if you like AK1869, you should try the Dovo creams.
Cibe Laboratory also sells them under their own brand name - Fiori i Frutta.

Well, for me, the fact that it contains SLS means its a no starter.

I'd be curious to see how you think it compares to BDF Raffinato by TFS, my favorite veggie Almond soap.

I think it helps create lather. Nasty stuff though.

Where did you get that idea from?!?!
Acca Kappa 1869 doesn't contain SLS at all...!

Excellent product! I might have to check out the Dovo creams if they never bring this back. Doesn't this company also manufacture some of the RazoRock soaps?

I understand that this cream is now in the process of being reformulated. Facepalm I tried ordering it a few weeks ago and was told it is back ordered due to the reformulation. Here we go again. Hopefully my rep is mistaken.

I used AK 1869(tub) regularly a couple of years ago and couldn't agree more with it's performance, both for the shave itself and post shave feel. The shea butter and lanolin content put it in a league of its own. Unfortunately, this product has been unavailabe for some considerable time due to reformulation on the way. I only hope the new version lives up to what we have all experienced first time round.

I have no idea... maybe Joe can answer that.

David, if you can't find the AK1869, get the Dovo creams. Same performance and skin care, the ingredients list is only slightly different (they have lanolin and shea butter as well) but with the added plus of having three different scents to choose from: almond, mint (not menthol, but plain mint) and eucalyptus.
The package is a little less fancy perhaps, but that is not what matters in a shaving cream.
You will not be disappointed. Smile

Thanks for tip regarding the Dovo creams, my friend Smile

I own the AK 1869 pot and its simply an awesome amazing shaving croap.
I have to rate it 10/10. Almond scent is outstanding.
Skin protection great. The razor glides with ease through the lather.

I will look to get some of the Dovo creams soon......based on your recommendation.
