I purchased a couple of months 2 olivewood handles and last week arrived my 2 TGN knots - A Silvertip Grade A and a Finest Badger XH - both with 26mm x 52mm.

Many thanks to 2 members of this forum: oversaturn and shm. They gave me the tips to do my brushes...

Very nice, Claudio! The olive wood is very distinctive, and I hear good things about the TGN knots. Enjoy! Smile

Hi

Beautiful handles and I'll admit I do like and think The Golden Nib 2-Band Finest knots offer (very) good value for money...

What final loft heights did you end up going with on the two knots?

Take care, Mike

Hello, Mike,

I purchased with 67/65mm height and when I did the brushes I insert coins inside to get more weight and balance. The final heights of both brushes is 52mm.

And oversaturn show me your thread about your experience with brushes...Smile

Hi Claudio

52mm loft height in both brushes should give you ample backbone in each, especially the 2-Band Finest. I look forward to seeing some post-bloom photos and reading your experiences with them...

I wouldn't trust anything you read that's been written by me Doubt

Take care, Mike

Hi Claudio

Once again, thank you for sharing another (post-bloom) photo Smile

Very nice bloom on the Silvertip Grade A knot and good to hear it exhibits "excellent backbone" and is "so soft!!".

Enjoy your two newly assembled shaving brushes, both of them look first class Euro

Very nice, olive wood is really nice and gives very good results, the olive personally that I like for the handles of the brushes is the olive root, although it may be more problematic when it comes to work it in the around.
Enjoy these brushes

That's so funny, I have one of the exact same handles and have a TGN Finest headed my way to fill it. Yours turned out great! The one I'm making is for my father, can't wait to get it together. Much more excited now that I have seen yours.

My Jerusalem olive wood handle isn't perfect, the base isn't perfectly flat, but I added some polyurethane to make sure it lasts and installed a "high mountain" knot from aliexpress in it. Overall it is a good brush, but not one that begs to be used and there is lot of competition right now.

From its last use a couple weeks ago.
