So I've bought and sold a significant number of razors and brushes, tried a ton of blades, poured through endless reviews of everything from stainless razors to blades, and have enough soap to shave Lower Manhattan for a couple of years!

In short, I'm set for the Shavepocalypse, but the Acquisition Disorder still runs hot! How does one feed the disorder?? Rolleyes

Well, have you ever tried persistance with one single item for each? Try one soap for three months, then work to using one or two brushes for one month, etcetera.
Also, try getting a straight and learing on that for one year or so. That might help.
You could always move to a deserted island! Biggrin
Best of luck to you.

Persistence is not going to happen! I just implemented the rule that I only change soaps when I change a blade, and I'm struggling a bit with that....

One way is quash it is to stay away from the forums, but that isn't so much fun.

The other way is harder, but you need to want what you have and have what you want.

Find a good kit and stick with it. It takes will power. I was good for close to two years, but have recently picked up a couple razors and brushes.

You don't stop the disorder.

What you need to do is to start doing reviews.

Start thinking about the differences in the safety razors and how they work.

Start thinking about the differences in the shaving brushes.

Start thinking about the differences in the razor blades.

And start noting how each one behaves. Take notes to find the perfect blade for each razor.

Then find the perfect soap, cream, aftershave, etc.

Then write a review or two.

Or figure out how much you got, how long it will take you to use it all up and figure out a plan of action to reduce your stash so you can buy more.

Only solution is to buy several large cabinets to store it all in... then buy more razors, brushes and soaps to fill said cabinets.

Think custom! See what you can do with getting perfect items, finishes and so on until you've achieved the "ultimate", that's my plan anyway!

Start moving towards straight razors. Only logical way to feed the disorder without buying more of the same.

Okay, I'll throw SE's a bone. They'll work too.
