This is one of the products, along with Bluebeard, that had copyright/trademark issues in the United States. As a result, neither brand can be imported into the U.S. any longer. Bluebeard has been re-branded as Dreadnought and will soon (May) be available under that brand name in the U.S. Pashana is still working on a re-branding.

Oh wow - I had no idea, Phil. Hope that gets resolved...

Pashana had come up with a new brand name for the U.S. Market and it was an unfortunate name. Something like Jack Dean that reminded you of bourbon and sausages at the same time. I think maybe they decided to do a little more market research.

That sounds like one delicious breakfast.

Here is what I wrote in my Basenotes review. It's a very potent product, and one that you will either really like or really otherwise. . .
Since I'm wearing this today and it's a not infrequent choice, I'll add a counterpoint. I can see where some would be put off by this. It's a definite throwback to British barbershops of times past. It is at the polar opposite end of the spectrum from a "crisp, fresh" scent characteristic of many of the more recent releases scents and popular aquatics. This is a deep, dark, dense somewhat dirty scent anchored by notes of patchouli and sandalwood and cedarwood with subtle herbal overtones (e.g. rosemary). It lasts FOREVER and is quite strong - even in aftershave formulation - and it is a scent that can be stifling if overdone. It is, however, a rich, classy scent that those who appreciate the great barbershop scents of yesteryear (like me) will enjoy.

Wow, Phil - that would be off-putting. It's risky to apply a few too many drops, much less several bottles of the stuff!

I love Pashana. To me, it has a rich classy scent. This is one I will replace when I use up my current bottle. By then, I hope copyright issues will be resolved.
I do agree, though, that a little goes a long way and can understand Phil's aversion to it after what happened to him.

I typically use both. Right after my cold water rinse, I apply an aftershave splash. I then wait about 5-10 mintues while I finish getting ready, and then apply an aftershave balm.
Most alcohol splashes are not as soothing as an aftershave balm. However, some are not far off. One that is pretty close is Musgo Real due to its high glycerin content.
There are some splashes that don't have alcohol and therefore, at least to me, seem very close to being as soothing as an aftershave balm. The one I use most is one by Razorock.

Do you use aftershave balm with the Pashana also? Since it's has such a strong scent...

Bourbon and sausage under glass, because JACK DEAN is a man of distinction.

I have a bottle of Pashana Original aftershave up for trade on this forum. It's full and it's listed with three other after shaves. If anyone's interested make an offer I would consider any options. If anyone has an Edwin Jagger E86,E87,E89 etc their not using I would like to trade all four straight up for one of those razors.
