Is it easier to lather with a Piggie? I mean, I have spent HUNDREDS on badgers of every whit, and about 3 months ago DRCollossus11 PIF'd me a Semogue 1470 that blew all of my high dollar brushes out of the water! I'm sure you all have seen me buying and selling stuff recently, right? ...I have had a Rooney Heritage Emillion, Simpson's CH1 2-band, Shavemac D01 3-band, Shavemac Finest, WSP Monarch 3-band HMW, and 2-band Superfine, TGN 2-band XH in custom Handle by Elite, M&F 2-band Finest, and Blonde Badger, and yet this one little brush has beat them all. I took a soap that was VERY poorly reviewed (The Knize) and made mounds of gooey slick lather with it and PIF'd an amount to another member (who also uses Boar Brushes) and he concurs that it is a GREAT soap when used with a piggie! I've been on somewhat of a binge lately buying as many piggies as I wanted and with 10 brushes at home or on the way have spent less than just my M&F Finest cost! 10 for one is NOT bad!!!

I'm not saying that the Boars are "better", I'm saying that they are right for me, but I would be remiss if I did not "shout out" my enthusiasm to the Nook on just how "right" they are!

I have not found a single boar brush that I thought was aweful...of course I've also stuck to the more famous brands, too and have not bought any of the really inexpensive boars like VdH or Marvey or Burma-Shave...YMMV, but I have gotten Vulfix, Semogue, WSP, Dreadnaught, and Omega and have found them all to be superlative in terms of face feel and lather production. I like the total firmness and scrub they give...but they are flimsy and soft too...It's a Paradox that I cannot explain!

So in the essence of "Shouting it out" I'd like to return DRCollosus11 act of kindness and PIF a NEW WSP Boar to someone in this thread who has not tried a boar brush yet. There are cheaper brushes out there, but so far the WSP Boar in my favorite right out of the box...almost no break-in and it would be like the one I got from DrCollosus11 which was already broken in.

There are no rules for this PIF...Just a sincere desire to try a boar brush...This is not an attempt to replace your daily driver...just an attempt to help you broaden your horizons a little...Just like Bacon, Boars brushes go with EVERYTHING!

I'll draw the winner at Random (probably put all the post numbers into a box and let my daughter draw a number) and send a PM Notification. This PIF will be open until Memorial Day, which is next Monday! CONUS only please.

Good Luck to all!

Matt

Tend to agree, my Semogue 610 is an excellent brush, and I'm just getting it broken in....

I wouldn't get rid of my badgers or synthetics, but I have far more boars than anything else. Definitely the best bang for the buck IMO. But one must get over the "stigma" of a great brush being something other than badger.

Great PIF! One doesn't see many brushes being PIFed.

BTW, I'm not in.

Great PIF, Matt. I would also tend to agree. If I didn't have my other brushes, I would still be content with my boars! Not in, thanks.

Nice PIF Crag and a nice opportunity for someone who wants to try a boar.
I too received my first boar brush from DrColossus some months ago. While I'm a little less experienced with brushes I have to say that using a Semogue has really opened my eyes to what a brush can do and I'm quite happy with it.

First off, I'm not in. I already have 30 pigs so you know how I feel about them.

Second, I am going to move this from the brush section to the contest/PIF section.

I don't know if this is still open, but I'm in, if so. I've wanted to try the WSP boar.

Winner! Winner! Winner!

We have a winner and I have contacted the lucky person to get their address for shipping. I will post the winner's Screen-name as soon as I have confirmed they still want the brush!

Thanks everyone for playing along! This was a fun run!

Matt

Wow that was a fast response!

Miche Thomas is the winner, and will be recieving the brush directly from Lee at WSP!

Congrats, Miche!
