Another video from the Semogue factory (in Portuguese, sorry) featuring Mr. Gomes and also his employees

Hope you like it!

Very nice video. What handle is that? It looks like a barrel.

Looks cool. Wish I could understand what they were saying. I'm sure someone will make a captioned version the monolingual Americans like myself.

An extremely fun video to watch! Anyone else notice the brush handle with 2013 imprinted into the bottom? If its the barrel one I think that would be fantastic. So simple compared to previous years models.

Sean, you are correct. The barrel shape has been used off and on by many brush makers since at least the 1950s.

Good video Emanuel!

Thanks for presenting it.

The first brush was the 1460 and the rest were the barrel brushes. I did notice that 2013 stamped into the bottom of that brush and hope that is going to be the LE for 2013.

The young lady said after she gets through with these brushes, she is going to go home a bake a chocolate cake.

Thanks Emanuel for posting this.

The 2013 stamped handle will be a limited edition for the Portuguese forum. That is one of the earliest prototypes, just that. The definitive model will feature a cherry-wood handle and... Well, more details to follow in the near future. Biggrin

The barrel-handled one is a Semogue 1993, and it is made for the low-end market (drugstores and such).

Although I like it, I have to say that it is not as good as the "Premium" line of Semogue brushes - the plastic ring is not as durable or sturdy as the metal ones, and the sticker went away the first time I lathered with it...
Generally, the prices of these ones are very low (less than ~€5), and you can compare these ones with the low-end Omegas, like the #50068...
Although I think that the brush is worthy for the looks alone...!

I'm guessing a shorter lofted version of the SOC Boar with a new handle of course. I should get in touch with Bruno now to have him set one aside for me. Biggrin

I am not sure if it is the idea of something being a throwback from earlier generations, but I really like the look of the barrel handle. I'm sure, as always, semogue will bring their game and make some great brushes.

Love these videos from the Semogue factory, even if I can't understand anything that is being said.
