There is a better chance then none that Stan(member here) from Above The Tie is producing a stainless steel open comb. This should be very interesting.

I loved the finish of the Titan I had but sadly the shave was rough even with the M plate. Service was top notch from Stan so I will buy whatever is released next.

Hopefully this is a smooth shaver!

Not too long ago I posted a review of the Atlas 5-piece razor system. I have to admit that an OC version interests me a lot.

I am not primarily an OC user, and have limited experience with them. For those of you who are more familiar, what would you most like to see in an ATT version? One based on the H base plate? The R or M? Which of the classic OCs you have used in the past would you like to see in a stainless version?

Gillette Old Type would be good...

I think a shave quality close to the Joris would be nice as well.

The new Muhle R41 (2013) is an exceptionally nice shaver, but that is a bit different design - not being a "pure" OC as such - but it would be sweet to have it in SS.

If Stan wants to be "one and done", build a stainless razor around the Feather Artist Club blades.

Thanks, Tom. I happen to love the Joris myself, and the Feather AC idea is extremely intriguing!

Whoa! That would be impressive and would stir some severe interest in the user community.

Whole-heartedly agree. Would also love to see other Gillette open comb heads made in stainless but the Old Type would be my first choice and might be the easiest to manufacture.

If we are going to mention a single edge, why not a stainless razor and/or head to use GEM Ted Pella SE blades? Couldn't resist...and make it open comb!

Hopefully they do more homework than they did with the "Plate" system, not at all impressed with their razors for the money.

They are beyond my price range so I haven't really paid much attention at all. What are the deficiencies with the plate system?

Basically they had to come up with different base plates because the original one was far too aggressive. For $185 I would have expected more, then again, this is just my opinion of course.

If they come out with an open comb I would hope they get it right the first time, rather than try and patch a fix with other plates. Granted for some, additional plates are good and it allows them to leverage their design further to more people, this is good, but for early adopters not so much.

Hi all,
Stan is aware of the hack and is in the process of working with Google to get back up and running. He posted on B&B so it will be at least a few days.

Please consider this a public service announcement.
Our web site is back up and operational. But most importantly I want to thank all the great people who reached out to help, who gave encouragement and support. It is beyond my ability to comprehend why a person or persons (hackers) can get enjoyment from trying to destroy, infect and high jack other peoples sites. They cause anguish for no reason. They are sick people. However, it is folks like those on this and other forums that bring fun and enjoyment to a noble activity. Thanks again.
