So I just had to try these two new STF V2 fibres in 23 and 25 mm size Cool

Paid €40 for shipping, yes €40 is crazy and only option at Mühle right now and had no patience, so paid the steep price of a total of €196, while I know I probably could have saved €40-€50 by ordering at Connaught Shaving, but they would have to order it from Mühle and did not have patience yesterday Blush

But the steep shipping price also meant speedy delivery from Germany, so I received the 2 brushes this afternoon at 12, 26 hours after I made the purchase online at the Mühle shop Smile

Both brushes feel softer new than the old Version 1 STF hair did and they look better shaped although the Afrcan Blackwood has some hairs going in all kinds of directions, I think they will behave nicely once dialed in and rinsed and cleaned Cool

I don't have my usual camera, so had to use my fathers Canon DSLR, which I used for the first time in my life for these 3 pics - so sorry about the poor pics, guys - the brushes look pretty amazing in my hands, the blackwood is a really beautiful dark almost black wood type with a faultless silver colored foot base with the Mühle logo imprinted on the bottom and the faux horn looks really well made and have a pretty stunning pattern IMHO Thumbup

Will I ever consider switching away from badgers like Teiste is doing ?
Not sure - I have owned 3 STF V1 brushes and they performed okay, not great face feel, but explosive lather.
If this V2 of the STF brush is even better, I might actually consider dumping my badgers at one point, maybe with the launch of V3 STF if Mühle continues to improve on the STF hair.

Congratulations on your purchases, Claus! The Muhle V2 brushes are certainly in a class by themselves. Other manufacyurers are finding sources for Generation 3 and 3.5 fiber knots, but only Muhle and its brand partner Edwin Jagger have the V2 series currently.

I look forward to pictures with your own camera. I find the blackwood handle especially appealing, and would like to see some close-ups!

Really nice brushes. I had thought that as an exclusive synthetic user I'd be immune to shaving brush acquisition disorder but Mühle are making it very hard for me to resist. A V2 23mm Silvertip Fibre is on my wish list, as is a 21mm and a Black Fibre... this could get expensive Confused

Looks nice... I have decided to give the V2 a shot (I really disliked the V1) and ordered a 23mm in faux horn... I am (more) patient though and ordered from connaught... Wink

Beautiful brushes Claus, congratulations!

I recently acquired a synthetic Omega. While it performed well, I much prefer the feel and behaviour of badger. I understand the Omega is probably not in the same class as the Muhle V2, but regardless I'll be most interested to learn your opinion of these compared to your badgers...

Regular orders within Germany are free with a value exceeding 50 Euro and 100 Euro within the EU. That's their standard offering. You paid the additional 40 Euro just to get the brushes one day earlier?

No, Mühle only gave me one shipping option.

I realize I could have sent them an email asking for a cheaper shipping option, but that's all history now Smile

Yes, far more important: how do you like the new silvertip fibre? You can compare it with the creme de la creme of badger brushes.
