Reading a blog by Mantic59 he recently obtain a pretty rare all plastic tto Weishi which he states is fairly aggressive due to a bigger then usual blade exposure. The razor appears to be all black and comes in its usual travel case, mirror and a Dorco blade. I couldn't resist so I ordered one from an Alaska based eBayer for the incredible price of $9.95 including first Class shipping with tracking. I should have it next Monday if all goes well. For some reason I couldn't capture a picture of it off the bay.
I am slightly excited but will reserve judgement until I get it and use it.

I have been writing back and fourth with Jason over this. I hope it pans out but think this is the same ol Weishi, just a lower grade in different packaging as I have seen it before.

I look forward to the review.

I, too, am curious to see your results. My current brass matte gold Weishi 9306 is solid and attractive, but so mild as to be virtually useless as a razor. Also, as the indicated model is all plastic, $9.95 is not really that cheap compared to similar, proven razors, i.g., Wilkinson Classic, Feather Popular, etc.

Good Luck!

However, the $9.95 includes shipping from Alaska.

first picture of the Weishi I received today. You can tell by the picture it does have a larger then normal blade exposure from other Weishi models. This razor weight 8.5 grams which is half the weight of a Merkur 45 bakelite. But after one pass I can report its a very nice shaver. Complete evaluation tomorrow.

Evaluation:

Weishi all plastic model 2008-T
Gillette Silver Blue
WSP Prince Silvertip
KMF Pomegranate Grapefruit SC

I decided on a 3 pass shave this morning instead of my usual two. The main reason is because this razor is very toy like in weight at only 8.5 grams or .3 oz. The loading and unloading of a blade is extremely easy because its a TTO. A total all plastic razor you would think this is a joke but its anything but a joke when you see a rather large even blade exposure on both sides of the head. My first pass this razor is extremely noisy like the sound of someone using a hand sawSmile I kid you not I thought I would wake up the neighborhood it was so loud. The first, second and third pass was very smooth and I felt like I could do anything I want without hurting myself. This is like using a plastic disposable razor only 100 times better. The final results were smooth like glass feeling on my face. I am pretty confident this shave will last until tomorrow morning.
Bottom line:
I only wish Weishi would make this razor in all metal with the exact same tolerances. Since this razor comes in a small compact case with room for blades and has a small built in mirror it is great for travelling. For $9.95 including delivery from Alaska this is a keeper.

Shave 2

Very impressed the way this very lightweight razor shaves. I completed three passes without any type of irritation and the results were BBS. My only complaint is the razor is so light (8.5 gr) and feels toy like. Too bad Weishi doesn't make this razor with the same blade exposure in all metal. To my knowledge this is the only TTO razor in all plastic being made.

Quite interesting indeed. It would be super neat if they made an OC TTO. Hmmm.... Does anyone have access to a 3-D printer? hmmmmmm , the possibilities!Wink
