Hi lads,Geordie Sam here,
My father was a docker (longshoreman) for 40 years or so.He would often come home with "samples" he had "liberated" from the different ships, one day he came home with a whole frozen New Zealand Lamb, minus the head, this was back in the sixties,we didn't have a fridge or freezer,we kept it in the outside cabin (this was in Winter) I can still see him doing his best to cut it up with a hacksaw, and losing his temper with it,we lived on Lamb in various conotations for a good week or so.
My mother who would often "tell him off" for bringing "samples" home, would eat the Lamb, then go to Confession the following sunday (to confess eating the Lamb)as this would allow her to still take communion.
Good solid working class people.(sadly they are getting fewer)
Geordie Sam.

Nice story about your parents. Sadly the hard work ethic is dying away. Everyone wants something for free.
