Lately I've been looking for a bright, citrusy summer scent. I've narrowed my search to either Tom Ford Neroli Portofino or Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli.

Both are clean, citrusy with some soapy notes. To my nose, Neroli Portofino is a bit sweeter, and the Grand Neroli has a slight peppery initial note which I think is a nice contrast.

I'm curious to hear the longevity of either, opinions on each or even other possible scents (e.g., Eight & Bob, etc.).

TF Neroli is IMO the best pure Neroli fragrance in the industry. Grand Neroli is nice but not pure Neroli. And the longevity on it is relatively short. A really great product for summer is TF Neroli Eau Fraiche splash (a bit lighter than the EDT) and something you can splash all over without being overwhelming. C&S makes a great Neroli and LV's Dilmun is a Neroli dominant scent with great longevity.

Thanks for your thoughts Chris. I haven't smelled either the C&S or the LV. It looks like 2 more to add to my list of those to sample.

I couldn't break the tie between the two scents so I got them both.

What kind of longevity do you get from them ?

Not as much as I'd like. TF's Neroli Portofino lasts a bit longer than the AC Grand Neroli. I would estimate that the TF lasts apprx 4-5 hrs, and the AC lasts apprx. 3-4 hrs.

I won't argue with what Chris posted but will add that I think Penhaligon's Castile is worthy of real consideration, and I can't say that for most of their line anymore.

Hmm good suggestion. I often overlook their line for scents. Thanks!

Claus, let me update my longevity estimates. TF Neroli Portofino is much more long lasting than I stated earlier. I think one can count on it lasting all day.

On the other hand the AC Grand Neroli lasts an hour tops.
