I was fortunate enough to find a sweet Hoffritz Butterscotch Barrel in great shape but in need of a new knot. Of course I got in touch with my “go to restore guy”
GD Carrington and soon we came up what we think is a great handle knot combo.

Gorgeous. I think that a finest or two-band is the perfect knot, visually-speaking, for a butterscotch.

This one has a nice "root beer" coloration that looks better in person than in the pictures.

Enjoy it Mark! Thanks for allowing me to work on the upgrade!

Butterscotch handles (especially darker colored ones) seem to be set off better with 2 bands in my opinion. The finest should be a good combination for it.

Yeah mine is a lighter color. Not nearly as dark as the one Mark has. I am leaning towards a Best to keep it original. I have a large Simpson that I might put a high mountain white in, but I haven't seen any opinions on it.

I wonder about the TGN HMW. I am sure it is a good knot, but Plisson set the standard with the 2 band HMW, so I really don't associated the TGN knot as a HMW looks wise. Maybe because I have moved more to Finest, 2 Bands and Synthetics I have not seen the need to make a move and try the TGN HMW.

I'm a Fan fan but with that handle the bulb you used is aesthetically more pleasing. It looks fantastic. Color me green.
