I use T&H, AOS, and TOBS. All three smell completely different from one another and TOBS smells nothing like what I think of when I think sandalwood but I love all three. If I had to choose one it would likely be TOBS.
What's your favorite? Feel free to add soaps if you're not a cream user. I do love Bee & Flower sandalwood bath soap and wish I could find that scent in a shaving product.

My favorite is AoS. Even though I haven't bought it (I have lavender) I've smelled it before and it's heavenly. When i use up the AoS lavender I"ll replace it with the Sandalwood version.
I have TOBS in soap (like the performance but the smell reminds me of Christmas for some reason) and used up a C&E Sandalwood. C&E had a great smell but for some reason I was never impressed with the performance.

TOBS Sandlewood is definitely a keeper!
I haven't tried other brands, but I don't see the need to since TOBS is absolutely satisfying to me in shave quality and smell. It smells great, and doesn't over-power one's nostrils (I am VERY sensitive to strong perfumed products).

The best smelling Sandalwood cream for me is T&H.
The strangest smelling (in fact it smells nothing like Sandalwood to me more like cake mixture (which isn't a bad thing in itself)) is Vulfix Sandalwood cream.
Out of all the Sandalwood creams I've used (TOBS, GFT, T&H, EJ and Vulfix), the best performing cream is the Vulfix cream.
I do prefer TOBS Sandalwood soap to all of them though. The smell just feels right and the performance is excellent.

You know, I got a sample of CF cedar/sandalwood. I very definitely got the cedar notes (smelled like a cedar closet) but the sandalwood isn't there. I do agree with you on performance.

ARe you using the soap or the cream? Haven't tried the cream but for me I'd say that TOBS is one of the strongest scented products I own.

TOBS Sandalwood....
TOBs smells like officers of the 1st Kings's Dragoon Guards on liberty after Waterloo.
TOBS smells like the ready room of 29 Squadron RAF.
TOBS smells like the Joint Chiefs meeting planning Operation Neptune.
TOBS smells like Victory
TOBS smells like men
TOBS smells like Winning Men.
If you don't mind the smell of blood, sweat and cordite, then use TOBS Sandalwood.
If you want to smell like a tree, center you chakra or focus your chi, wear something else.
TOBS Sandalwood ...accept no substitute
