I love the smell of Speick products. I've been happily using the after shave for a couple of years. Today I dusted off the shaving cream and worked up a great lather for a 3-pass shave. Then I remembered why I hadn't used the cream for a while: it makes my face itch like crazy! It's as if I can feel itch sensors in individual pores. Some are stuck in the on position; others pulsate.

I'm chalking this up to bad luck and bad skin but was wondering if anybody else has similar problems with the Speick cream. The aftershave doesn't bother me at all.

I can use it occasionally without any problem. When I try to use it more than 3 days in a row I get some redness and irritation. Maybe a little itching but not much.

I can use it one shot at a time. Never two days in a row.
It doesn't cause me to itch, just some irritation, mostly around my mouth.
This can happen to a small degree on the first day as well if I don't get the cream/water ratio just right.
I do love the smell of the Speick too!

Interestingly, this will also happen to me with Nivea Mild and Florena. Those two seem related to a big degree ingredient wise but Speick adds other ingredients.
Maybe the bases are very similar.

I've never tried the cream but really like the soap, with no irritating side effects. If you like soaps, I recommend it as it builds lather as fast as any cream, especially if you mill the stick into a bowl. Plus...the Speick scent!

Im sorry to hear that.I never had any problems with this cream or any of the german ones either. Its one of the few cases where I prefer the cream better than the soap.
If you wanna sell it or trade it,let me know,I wanted to get one a couple weeks ago.

Teiste, it's almost gone so I'm going to donate it to a friend I helped convert recently, otherwise I would!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I may just stick with the after shave. Oh, who am I kidding, I'll give the soap a go!

For me it is the contrary - the Speick cream or stick help my sensitive skin to feel so soothed and comfortable. I love them.

Haven't tried the cream but I love the soap. I find it to be pretty soothing and get excellent shaves from it.

That's interesting. I've only tried the cream. I may have to give the stick a chance sometime then.

It's a good soap. I grated mine into a tin. The Speick cream offers really good value and I wish it did work for me. Has anyone here tried their new Active line?

Neither irritate my skin. The Speick cream is the only cream I use and I grate my Speick sticks and turn them into a nice hard puck. Both will always be in my rotation.

Didn't care for the scent of this - too herbal.
Love the after shave splash though Smile

I ordered a tube of Speick Cream to celebrate Phil's updated Bullgoose web-site(it was in my P.O. Box 2 days later). I just tried it for the first time this morning. As expected, it quickly produced an excellent lather and gave me a great shave. I have the Speick Stick and like it too. Neither give me any irritation of any kind. I will be adding some of the aftershave soon. I personally enjoy the scent.

Go ahead and try the stick. It's as good as the cream! Wink
