I like badger brushes...
Tried boars ... not for me...
Had a Mühle V1 SF... not for me...
Hence I thought I was done with anything but badger brushes - most of them 2 bands...

Elbe convinced me that the new V2 Mühle Fibre is significantly different than the first one... So I decided to give it another try...

Here she is: 23mm/56mm in faux horn...

And here comes my surprise: it is actually a good brush for face lathering Cool

The first version was "springy", did not splay, was really uncomfortable when wet, and it gave some prickle when using with circular motion..

The V2 is very soft - dry and wet, splays on the face and is comfortable to use with circular motion. The hair seems finer than in V1. I would not go as far and saying it is better than my badgers - but the face feel is much improved. And it is more comfortable to use than some badgers in Best or Super that I owned...

The V1 I tried two times and sold quickly... V2 will remain in my den - for now Biggrin

Glad you liked it, German. I read someone saying they didn't think there was a significant difference between v1 and v2, and I disagree: there is no confusing them in my mind and my observations mirror yours.

25mm is even better...

I haven't tried a V2 yet. However, I found the V1 characteristics to be just as you described which is why I preferred the Black Fibre. My wife still loves the V1 STF so it's not leaving anytime soon.

Congratulation and enjoy the brush!
i have three Frank Shaving brushes that have to be some of my best ones; very, very soft and extremely pleasant to face-lather with. i would really like to try the new Muhle V2 to compare to my FS ones.

Yes, V2 fiber makes for a very nice brush IMO.

If anyone had told me years ago that I would write the above I'd have, extremely vociferously, denied it and maybe even called them names and questioned their lineage. Wink

BTW, it's so nice a brush that after parting with my V2 travel brush I located a V2 knot in a handle much as pictured. I actually missed having it in the rotation.

Which size would you recommend? 21 or 23 mm ?
I facelather and for instance, my Duke 2 in best fits my preference for knot size very well.

With synthetics, I recommend ordering the size above what you prefer in badger to have a more equivalent face feel. My suggestion would be the 23mm because I think they just get better the bigger they are. FWIW, I own the 25mm Muhle but my ideal badger knot size is 22-24mm.

No , just knowing how the V 1.0 and V 2.0 look like , nothing really complicated. There are differences and its not that complicated to distinguish. However , maybe Gary or Jim could pop up and say something too.

This question was asked yesterday on another site and this is what I came up with to describe the differences.

I hope this helps.
