This just hit my mail yesterday. Haven't had time to play with them yet but I just think they're too cool. Two of the scales need to have one side replaced as they are split. No biggie. I'll break them all down, clean them up and polish up the box a bit and they'll be good to go.
I like this swept blade style and the shape of the heel. The large jimps on the top of the spine are nice but the super fine ones ( finest I've ever seen) on the thumb area continue back to the pin. And on each and every one the word Brighton is stamped that way.
The last pic is just a few of my other Ivories.

Thanks! Yeah, I love that case. I think I'm going to borrow some ideas from it and build my own to house some of my other pieces.

Hi Mark

Looks to be a beautiful 7 day set, can't wait to see them after you work your magic on them...

Is it possible the three locations ("Leadenhall Street City", "Piccadilly Circus W(est?)" and "Brighton") stamped on the tangs were shop locations for J Drew & Son?

Take care, Mike

Thanks. Can't wait to get them cleaned up. Of course the shoemakers kids story hits home here. I'll have to get after them when I can as my bench is quite full at the moment.
The razors also have a wonderful history to them. On another site there was quite a lot of research by others and none other than the great great grandson of J. Drew himself adding to the info on the business of J. Drew. Very interesting reading. Turns out as I was starting to research the razors I came across a 3 yr. old thread. I opened it and much to my surprise it had just resurfaced the day before I got my set. Ironic.

mycarver, are these 5/8 to 11/16 blades or 11/16 to 6/8? It's hard to tell. Either way, knowing the quality of your work, one can expect a handsome set when you've finished restoration. And, yes, the set will look impressive in that handsome box. Good show.

Wow Mark. The box by itself is worthy prize and the razors just put it over the top. I can't way to see it as a finished work.
