I need a new/creative name for my soft solid shaving soap. It's not a shave cream and it's not a solid soap. It's somewhere in between. It comes in a jar. You can either scoop some out into a scuttle to make lather with or use a wet shaving brush over the top of the soap in the jar to make lots of stable lather. It is made with both sodium and potassium hydroxide. Whom I pick as a winner will get a jar with the scent of their choice. Help me name this type of soap please!

The contest will close on 6/30 at which point I will pick a winner.

Well, if you don't like what most folks call soft soaps, which is croap (a portmanteau of cream and soap), how about Shaving Putty?

Would other wet shavers know what shaving putty is? Interesting idea...

I presume you are looking to coin a new term if you aren't wanting to go with "croap" as has been mentioned or "soft soap" as many of the Italian soaps are called like P.160, Cella, ABCBA, etc. Any new term you try to use will come with the question of whether or not people will know what it is.

I'd keep it simple & stick with "soft soap" or personalize it a bit like Ginger's Soft Soap.

I'm not sure that I'd jump to use putty. People still question what the RazoRock shave lube is used for as well as their aftershave wax. People don't necessarily like the wax connotation.

I'll see if my creativeness comes up with anything that my analytical mind can accept as plausible.

Godspeed in your decision.

You have a good point; something to consider.

I dunno, I think that curiosity might help to draw some attention. ("Shaving putty, what in the world is that? Let me go ahead and click on it and find out...") Wink

Ginger's Supple Soap...Has some rhythm to it.

I also think "Ginger's Comfy Cream" has a ring to it, but that makes me think of a real soft cream.

We'll see if my brain can come up with anything else as the day goes by..

Rather than soft soap how about hard cream to set yours apart. Another option would be to call it a concentrated cream or shaving cream concentrate.
