Yesterday, I received a new prototype from Semogue. Smile
It is one of the prototypes for some new Limited Edition brushes, to be made for the members of the Portuguese wet-shaving forum BarbearClassico.com

The handle is made of cherrywood, and the shape is inspired by an old Semogue model (Semogue 208).

As for the knots, there will be 3 options available. 100 units of each hair type will be produced:

- "Cerda" (Boar, Premium 90% tops, 22x50mm)
- "Mistura" (a mix of 2-band Finest Badger and Premium 90% tops boar, 22x50mm)
- "Texugo" (2-Band Finest Badger, 22x50mm)

The boar knot was inspired in the knot of the 1305 model - same type of hair, probably the same type of soft tips once broken, but with a short loft that will appeal to facelatherers.
The badger knot was inspired in the SOC 2-band - think of it as a smaller version of the SOC.

3 prototypes were made, one for each type of hair, and were sent to 3 different testers... I chose to test the boar model. Here's some photos of what I have received. A beauty of a brush, for sure!

Other Portuguese members are right now testing the other two models; the badger model...

As soon as the test are finished, the production will start - soon, we hope!

All the best, and I hope that you liked reading this!

Jamie.

You can have it on "your hand" on the portuguese forum portal. You can grab it and rotate it at your will Biggrin

I've received the mistura prototype, and even considering the small amount of time usage, this little fellow didn't disappointed one bit Biggrin
But as known, since it have boar hairs, it will take a while to show all his "power".

Emanuel, thank you for sharing. All three prototype brushes are in keeping with the exceptional tradition and quality of Semogue brushes. I'll be interested in reading the test reviews of the three prototype brushes.

Very nice! I would love to get my hands on one of the boars. I've always wanted one of the old 208 brushes.

The Semogue mixed-knots are my favorite, and I'd love to pick this one up to go with my TSN LE and SOC 2012 SE.

I have one request. More pics please Shy
