Over the course of several months, I've acquired a group of amazing Manchurian Shaving Brushes from Simpson.

I'm always amazed with the excellence that Mark and his team puts out in their brushes. I'm nowhere near the brush photographer that my friend Mr. Manchurian (Ben74) is, but the brushes I've acquired tell a wonderful story of legendary performance, style, and excellence found in Simpson Manchurians.

Enjoy!

That gorgeous Amber Duke 3 has me second guessing the Jade D3 I picked up. Simply stunning.

Thanks! It's hard to pick my favorite. They all perform excellent and have unique qualities.

But probably the Chubby 2

Hi

You've got yourself there five beautiful looking brushes Thumbsup

Personally I find the Amber material to be the most appealing of the *limited* edition materials currently offered by Simpsons -- in fact I find it absolutely stunning.

Take care, Mike

I must admit Mike that it was the pictures above that enabled me to swing towards choosing the Amber over the Briar for one of the D3's I purchased earlier today.

All of the brushes pictures above look stunning but the Amber sort out jumped out at me and should provide a nice counterpoint to Cobalt Blue.

Great collection and shots. Really puts a nice spin on the amber and for the first time, I am now interested in the Polo. You must be very pleased with your selection.
+1 on the post bloom pics. Enjoy.

The Amber handle is hard to top. It's stunning in person. You will enjoy it for sure.

How does the knot on the Duke compare to the Polo/Jubilee?

Anything you can do to quantify your description would be very helpful Smile

I love the handle on that middle one and the fact that its a manchurian makes it that much better. Very nice collection.

From a density standpoint, from most dense to least:

Chubby 2 Manchurian - 10 (doesn't get much more dense than this one)
Classic 1 Manchurian - 9
Polo 10 Manchurian - 8 (YMMV)
Duke 3 Manchurian 6/7
Jubilee - 5

From a flow through standpoint, from best flow to least flow:

Duke 3 - 10 (this brush has one of the best flow I've used. The flow, paired with a good density make this one solid brush)
Classic 1 Manchurian - 10 (I love the flow on this brush, I just wish it were a little bigger. But it makes an epic travel brush)
Polo 10- 8 (I only say an 8 rating because it's no duke. it flows really nice)
Jubilee - 8
Chubby 2 - 7

All have significant a excellent backbone. My Polo 10 has some scritch, but I haven't quite broken it in yet. The Chubby has some scritch as well. The Duke, Classic, and Jubilee are all really nice with minimal scritch.

Although the Polo and Chubby have scritch, it's a scritch that I love! It's very luxurious and very enjoyable.

Does this answer your question about the knots?
