Once you reach your 45th post and have been a member for 30 days the system will let you in to the B/S/T section.

See Rule #1 in this link.

Perhaps it would be better to make it mandatory that all Sell/Trade Q&A take place via PM?

Why?

If the question is of a general nature, there is probably more than one member wondering to it's answer...

However, I agree that the majority of item specific queries might be best pursued by PM.

So kids can't ruin an auction like they did with my P160 auction. Its a place to sell, not a place to chat be it well intentioned or not.

As for other members benefiting from questions, I would rather have someone PM me about a question and if relative info about the auction is highlighted than "I would rather be in control of what goes into MY AUCTION instead of someone else". That is what the "Edit Button" is for.

If I feel the need to say

"You go ask your Wife if you can buy it,,... And I will go ask my Wife if I can sell it to you!"

than obviously the conversation doesnt belong under the listing for everyone to read instead of merely viewing the very thing they are supposed to be looking at.

I still feel that questions of a general nature can and should be asked and answered in the open - applies even more so after reading a certain thread in the B/S/T over a pulled sale.

If you feels differently, why not put in the post that you'll only reply to questions in PM? Then, if it's a valid question more people are interested in you could add it to your thread.

Questions about a product for sale are appropriate in a thread. Smile

Snide comments, from anyone, either seller or potential buyer, have no place on this forum, period! Angry

Its just a recommendation based on one of my recent threads.

Why not request PM's? People look at pictures, prices, and start typing. Human Nature.
