I'm incredibly happy to have signed up for this forum! after months of reading and following many threads on many forums, I have chosen to join this community for its member's integrity and great collection of knowledge, opinion and wisdom.
My recent trek to NYC (I'm just outside the Bronx in Westchester)included a stop at what I consider my and NY's shaving Mecca; Pasteur's Pharmacy and Surgical(Thankfully there's two loc.). Everytime I come home from there my shaving obsession rears its ugly head. This days hike lead me to buy some great creams and soaps from Haslinger, Razorock, DR Harris, and some odds and ends. Their massive quantity of brushes yielded me a unique Simpson Tulip 1, 2-Band...Amazing! I have to admit this store has almost every product I have ever heard of, sans some products that appear to be strictly sold online. I almost don't want to talk about this store and it's welcoming/Knowledgeable owners Steven and Leon, its vast array of products that you can see, smell and touch; and its prices(especially fair for NYC). I want to keep it all to myself! It would be too selfish to not advertise my happiness stemming from the "Mecca". I look forward to more of the Nook!

Welcome to the shave nook. I understand you completely. I work in NYC and every time I go to Pasteur my wallet comes out empty and my hands full Biggrin
Incredible store, can't believe they can fit so much stuff in there. It is a NYC top 10 for us wet shaving aficionados.

Pasteur's got my fire burning enough to come join the "Nook" today, sooo I hope without sounding like an advertisement, said Merci Beaucoup to their great effort and service...wow! "top ten" in NYC!, I can only form a top five list, you guys have to let me in on your personal favorites! Even if they aren't in NYC, why not give a shout to your local shop or online shop if you think it's worth it! Shave On Cool

Greetings Bob and welcome to the Nook.
I'm in Australia so your beloved store is safe... But my sister resides in Brooklyn... I may just have to urge her to check it out on my behalf!

Hey there Bob and welcome to The Shave Nook.... I'm jealous....lol All we have for shaving here in NO is Aiden Gill... It's a nice shop with plenty of goods it's just kind of pricey. I've found a couple Mom and Pop drug stores that stock a few good things but I must rely on the good old internet fore most of my purchases... Happy Shaves Sir !!!!
