so, I had a Wilkinson DE blade {one left} which I had come to dislike. I put the last one in my master barber razor. and.....IT SHAVED FANTASTICALLY! I bought another pack to make sure though. will report later.

The QC of the newer, German made Wilkinson's is a bit hit and miss, but I find them to be pretty good middle of the road blades. Though, they do work extremely well in my disposable straight razors.

disposable straight razor? the whole razor or just the blade?

That was meant to say "disposable blade straight razor" rather than disposable straight razor...I think I was tired. I was attempting to refer to my Parkers, Sanguine, Hawk, etc., sadly I failed...

Quality Control ... what a pain if something goes wrong and you previously liked the blade.

Being loaded by machine these blades sometimes have bent edges and that can cause a nasty razor burn, so I've found that if I cork them first I get much better results from them! Corking works to smooth the edges of worn razors too...
