Hi lads,Geordie Sam here,my taste in colognes/aftershaves is changing,I used to like Aramis Classic, and Aramis Tuscany, but I now feel my taste is heading towards the "richer/warmer" fragrance of bay rum,I still love my Tabac, and I think Pinaud "special reserve" is the best thing you can buy on the planet, but I think for the money Pinaud bay rum is also hard to beat.
Has anyone tried Pashana bay rum? (i'm sure you will have Johnny),if so,is it any good?.
Thanks.
Sam.

Sorry Sam, but I have not tried the Pashana Bay Rum. Not even sure that I can get it over here.

Right now I'm using four different bay rum's:

Dominica
Meehan
Krampert's
Captain's Choice

I know, I know. I have been neglecting my Floid Blue stash. But I just LOVE the four bay rums I listed above.

Haven't heard of Pashana, but I switched to all Bay Rum A/S over a year ago. My favorites are:

#1. Captains's Choice (regular & co9t)
#2. Ogallala (have all 4, but favor the regular & cedar)
#3. Superior 70 Bay Rum (my cheapo A/S)

Don't care for Clubman VIBR or Masters by themselves, but I occasionally mix them with Superior 70. There are a few others I want to try, like Krampert's, but I need to finish off some other bottles first. I've got multiple bottles of my favorites and no room for new ones.

How much is the stuff? A bottle of Dominica can be had for 13 balloons making Pashana kind of a non-issue.

I'm in the Bay Rum camp as well. Captain's Choice (all 3) are flat out phenomenal, Krampert's is exceptional as well. I'll probably give Dominica a shot one of these days.

I also need to recommend Royall. Its a step up from Dominica although they are more similar than not.

BUT!

Now that we are enjoying the warmer months of the year "the Bay Rum you choose can be important".

Good Bay Rum is very spicy and warm on the skin. For this reason I would recommend Royall for a traditional Bay Rum in the hot weather because its loaded with menthol.

Pashana is an old English company who have been making bay rum for just over a century,it's classed as a barber shop type bay rum, something you "slap on" liberally.

I like the Superior 70 Bay Rum.

It has a nice light scent and is cheap.

Inexpensive. Bought it for the 1st time in Orlando. ~3-4 years ago. Nice aftershave.

Sounds Good to Me. I think the French might have something to say about it though.

Anyone ever try the Taylor Bay Rum before? Always been curious about that one. I like the Taylor stuff, they seem to combine quality and good price. And the scents are super nice as well.

I believe you can thank the Spaniards and the Dutch for bay rum.
