Guys and Gals,

I realize that our system has the capability to resize your images but sometimes that really slows things down and taxes the system.

It would really speed up the system if you could resize them before you post them. Now I know you can do it as that is what I do with mine.

Either 800x600 or 640x480 pixels works great.

Thanks

I have no problem doing it on my iMac, Johnny, but haven't figured out how to do it on my iPad. Any help in that area by someone who knows how to do it would be much appreciated.

There are bunch of apps for this purpose. Some are free, look in iTunes for photo editing.

Thanks, Steve. I'll take a look. Any that you would particularly recommend?

Freddy, mainly use Pixlr Express+ now for my iPhone. I presume they have an iPad version.

This is a test:

Thanks for all of your help, gentlemen. I looked up Leo's Simple Resize and it brought me to an app called iResize. It was $.99 so, for that kind of money, I figured I didn't have much to lose. I found it easy to use and it seems to do what I want, as evidenced from the above photo. Again, thank you for the input.

As indicated above, there may indeed be a free resizing app for the iPad but for only 99¢ I didn't have to look through a lot of applications to find what I wanted.

Honestly, the help our members give each other for shaving, as well as other questions, is second to none. Thumbup

Thanks for this post Johnny. I was unaware until a post with churchill a few days ago that the system did it automatically. I have been searching for a program to downsize my pictures so I don't cook the serverSmile

Ah, thanks for that Andrew. I actually just resized my first one a few minutes ago under a post I made about Arko cologne. I used some online website, but paint seems like it would be a much easier option.

I'm not sure why, but sometimes impur works and most often it doesn't. Just my .02. We might get more pics with another service. Just a thought.

BTW, I use Apple.

I too use Apple and the imgur system works great for me. What I do Bob is move the image I want from iPhoto to my desktop (this is where I resize my pictures using tools) then click on the little "i" icon in the toolbar above. Then I click on select file and choose the image from my desktop and hit enter. Within a few seconds imgur assigns it its magic number and inserts it into my post.

Johnny, I do the same thing with my Window's phone. By the way thank's again for walking me through this process when I was having problems posting pictures.

For me Imgur sometimes works for one image, but then stalls when I try to add a second image. So then I have to copy the interrupted post, close out my browser, restart the browser and return to the Nook, re-enter the post, and add the second image with Imgur. Kind of a PITA.

I do exactly what Johnny does (I got the idea from him) and it works most of the time. Every once in a while, though, imgur just keeps spinning. I will then close imgur, reopen it, and try the same photo again. That works almost every time.

Probably when the wheel just sets there and spins, 20,000 people are trying to do the same thing you are for posting pictures at other sites. System gets briefly overloaded.
