Yesterday I bought a Gillette and was delivered today.

The razor looked fine on the pictures, but I didn't knew what kind of razor I actually bought. So, when I received the package, I start looking for the type and year. It seems this razor is exactly the same as found on the website of mr-razor. It turns out, I bought a 1948 Gillette Aristocrat #21 Rhodium plated Australian Set in mint condition!

Your's seem to be open comb, and the #21 is closed comb as you can see in the mr-razor photo.

Your's seems more like this one.

Any chance to weight it?

Either way, congratulations its a beauty.

Argh.....How could I miss that: open comb vs closed Confused Sad Sad Sad

Not sure if it's the razor you link to:
The patent numbers don't match. Mine is 430,030.
The weight don't match either. #47 is 60gr and mine is 74gr

On a closer look, it does seem more like a #15.

Seems like the one in this post.

Checking mr-razor's website, there are 5 open combs with patent 430.030

#3 : mine is not gold
#15 : mine has no writing on the handle
#46 : mine is not gold
#14 : mine has no writing on the handle
Anglo - American : mine does not have vertical lining

Are there #3's with Rhodium plating?
Because besides the color, mine looks the same as the #3.

Who can help me out ?

Thanks for the link Mig. (Awesome post by Tony SC!)
I think you are correct. After reading Tony's post, I also think it's a #15.

How can I check if it's silver or rhodium plated?
