I've decided to finally start decreasing the size of my Somerset Simpson collection, beginning with the Pures. There are 14 brushes for sale, all lightly to moderately used and in very good condition. Some have stickers and some don't. There are no dings or defects in any of the handles, and none of the brushes shed. These are beautiful, high-quality brushes, but I just decided that I have too many to use. Prices include shipping CONUS. Buy more than one brush and your total shipping will be decreased. I'm willing to ship internationally for additional cost.

Edit: Anyone buying one of the remaining Pures will get advance notice when I put my Bests up for sale in about a month.

Nice sale. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the best badgers. Any manchurains going to be up for sale in future threads? Cool

Not for awhile, if ever. Next will be Bests. I doubt that I'll get rid of my Manchurians or Rooney Finests any time soon.

Cool. It was worth a shot, though.

Not any time soon. Even if I sold off all my Bests and Supers too, I'd still have about 20 Manchurians and Rooney Finests. However, my wife is now starting to campaign for a change over to an electric shaver sometime in the next few years.

How long did it take you to put together such a collection, and would you mind posting some pics of your Rooneys? I am a confirmed, to the soul, Rooneyite...they "speak" to me,.....and I think I'll wait for your bests to come up.

It took me about 7 years to collect the Simpsons. Here are the Finests.

Well, not to get into too much information, I had polio when I was kid, and I now have what's called post-polio syndrome, with loss of muscle mass and a mild and slowly progressive tremor in my arms. My wife is a little worried that I'll cut myself with the blades, which hasn't happened yet. She's "allowing" me another few years of DE shaving.

John,

I wish you many, many years of wet shaving. The collection of brushes is magnificent.

These photos will stir up brush envy in most of members who will view this thread.

Thank you, William. I'll keep shaving as long as I'm able (and can get away with it).

The prices of the remaining brushes have been reduced:
Beaufort 4 $60
Beaufort 6 $88
Coates Fitzwilliam $32
Eagle 2 $58
Special $37

This will be the only price reduction. If they don't sell at these prices within a few days, they go to eBay.

John,

My dad is 92 and still shaves himself daily. About 20 years ago he had an auto accident and was exposed to freezing temperatures and got severe nerve damage in both arms and upper body - he shakes pretty bad, but swears that shaving calms him enough to allow him the focus to do the deed. I hope this is your case, too!
