This nice brush just sold on eBay. It's an Asprey (one of the brands under which early Simpsons were sold) Chubby 2 in Best, with a butterscotch handle. I thought about bidding, despite the fact that I'm trying to clear out some of my Simpsons, but the price quickly went too high. With shipping, it sold for $260. Did one of you get it?

Whoever picked it up got a very nice brush. Nimmer made, handle would have been turned by Stan Archer. He was the only guy to turn all of Asprey's orders.

Just get one of the new LE ones from Vulfix Simpson - they are not genuine ButScotch, but they look pretty nice IMHO Cool

You should also check out the new amber material Vulfix Simpson is offering at the moment. I got a Chubby 3 Amber in Manchurian and the handle material looks really nice. I considered another buttersotch in Chubby 3 Manchurian, but decided to go for the Amber and havenot regretted it one bit Smile

It's a shame I didn't win it - knowing the history behind who turned the handle and when would have made it a very special brush indeed.

Thanks for sharing the info Gary. Smile

I bid it up, but my heart wasn't in it enough to really go for it. What a nice piece, though. The box and receipt add some interest.

I was watching it but not bidding. I figured I would go high, it's a very nice brush.

The price is steep but what a sweet brush. Especially with the story behind it from Gary. Priceless!

I was watching that too, but I just knew it would top out over 150 pounds in the pre-shipping price and that was clearly too much for me so I stayed out of that bidding war.

It is a beautiful and classic example of the Simpsons line.

To the person that received it, enjoy!

I was surprised to see it only go up once in the last minute actually.

I was watching but it passed my price threshold before I bid. It is a beauty indeed. I wonder how much each of us has cost others by competing for the same brushes. I suppose it would be too much for me to ask you guys to back off! Angel

In all seriousness this butterscotch sickness is tough to kick, congrats to whoever won.
