Does anybody know anything about these blades and all the other "Lord" ones? I got one thrown in as a sample with an order. I tried it today and I am pleasantly surprised I must say.

There are so many different variety of Lord blades most with similar names. The Lord brand is made in Egypt and has been around a long time. In addition they also make 3 piece double edge razors and disposables.

The Lord Platinums are one of my favorites, and pretty much the only blade that works well in all my different razor types.
But I've never tried the Cools.

I wonder whether the civil unrest in Egypt will disrupt the supply of Lord blades. As I recall, they are made in Alexandria. Cairo seems to get all the TV coverage, but there may be problems in Alexandria as well.

That is an excellent point and one to watch for. Perhaps I should grab them up now.

Blades are made by the millions so hopefully any disruption will be minimal.

shave #4 and still as smooth and nick free and close as the first. I normally ditch them at this point but let's see where we can go.

A full week of shaves so far and no sign of the end yet!
I can't get two decent shaves out of a Feather and this unheard of, flying under the radar, thrown in an order as a sample, blade gives me seven and it's still going.

12,twelve, eleven plus one, 12. yesterday I shaved with it for the 12th time, it will be 13 this morning. Unlucky number, maybe I should just go ahead and change it out. I'm going to forget how to do that if this keeps up.

I'm a fan too...first I tried the Lord Platinum class blades...awesome for an inexpensive blade!!! Then I happened to see a ten pack of these Lord Super Stainless's being talked about, and now they have become the best value blade I have ever usedTongue Still like the Lord Platinum's better, but they are slightly more costly, although still inexpensive when compared to other similar performing blades!

The Lord's that I tried did not work very well for me, these were the ones in the White Package with red writing, but they could have been weather worn, too since I found them at an estate sale and bought them...they were murder, so I trashed the last 3 blades. Those are the only Lord Blades i have tried...

The Lord Platinum Class works well for me. There is some confusion because the Platinum Class and Super Stainlees look identical, with both blades having Super Stainless printed on them. There has been some discussion about this in another forum. Some think they're the same blade just packaged differently. However, most believe the blades perform differently and that the Platinum Class is a Super Stainless blade with a platinum coating.

On my second Lord Cool blade, shave number twelve this morning. If it wasn't happening to me I wouldn't believe it.

This concept of anything over four MAX shaves per blade kinda blows my mind!?!?!?! How the hell do people get blades to last this long? Are these at least two pass shaves and FULL face? There has to be something between the huge disparity in blade longevity, other than beard hair specifics. Shaving

On one side the back is bigger than the face, so that should make it wear faster. On the other side back hair tends to be less stiff and stubbly, so that might work in the other direction.

Or just leave it in place - as shaggy as I am I would have to shave all over twice a day anyway Tongue
