These new grades are a prototype of sorts. Due to the rarity of the hair and high labor costs, this may be the one and only run of this hair, depending on the reception and comparison to the normal grades.

My detailed descriptions of the hair and how it feels can be found on our badger hair grades page.

Well, I suppose I will acquire another WSP knot. The HMW two band sounds right up my alley and 23/24mm is my sweet spot.

Bob over at Elite may already have my 2 knots from this batch. Really looking forward to seeing the new HMW SGs (2 & 3-band) in some of Bob's new material; Jade & Tortoiseshell!

Very interesting... The original HMW is very nice, the special version must be super duper luxury.

It was actually really hard writing a description for it. The difference is there, but basically it just feels like HMW multiplied by two.

The HMW 2 band special grade is very noticeably different and easily my favorite of these.

Here's a look at the new HMW 2-band Special Grade knot in a newly turned Jade E7 from Elite Razor. I can't wait to see its 3-band tortoise cousin soon.

Big fan of WSP products, rarely do you find quality of this level priced reasonably.

Will these be sold as completed brushes as well or just the knots?

These new knots have me interested.

How densely packed are these special grade HMW knots?

Also, what was done to the 2-band special grade HMW to remove the scritch?

Finally, of the two special grade HMW offerings, which has more flex in the knot, and which has the softer tips?

These new knots sound wonderful ... and the potential options available for a custom handle ... incredible! Well done, Lee, for allowing shaving enthusiasts these opportunities! Smile

Brian, that is one hot jade brush ... I can't wait for the tortoise 3-band's debut! Biggrin

If the people who try this hair feels that it is significantly better than the current lineup and worth the additional price (on special right now), then yes, I will start designing some handles and coming up with ideas.

If they are released as full brushes, the special grades of HMW will be available in only limited editions. The 2 banded HMW has enough supply that it can be incorporated into the regular lineup in some manner.

They are the same density as the HD knots.

Bleach and the extra step of removing as many black inclusions as humanly possible. I was not able to identify any black inclusions in any of the special grades.

Softer tips is actually the 2 banded version. The HMW special grade is more flexible (has less backbone).
