After just ordering my second Cobra, it occurred to me that perhaps I should consider trying an injector.

The Schick injectors interest me, so I thought I'd start there. Any recommendations as to the model I should attempt to acquire?

As for blades, I've read the associated thread and will look for the Chinese Schicks.

Or... Should I just stick with the Cobra?

Ben, I admire your open-mindedness. While I enjoy injectors and think you should try them, I don't know if you will find a "better" shave than the Cobra. That being said, the closest and smoothest injector in my experience is the Schick E type. It will of course feel narrower and nimbler compared to the Cobra. Get a nice butterscotch handle...wonderful razor.

Tom, thank-you for the advice.

I'm not expecting a closer or better shave than the Cobra, but a variety of rewarding shaving experiences is always nice.

Found a Schick ID guide page for anyone that is interested (apologies if this has been shared previously).

Ben I am currently using a Schick E2 and J1. Although the E2 feels more aggressive they both shave extremely well and I think you will like the experience. Also the best blades are the Chinese Schick injectors. Easily get 8+ shaves. One other word the J series feels just like a disposable razor.

Thanks Jerry, the E series sounds like a definite must try, but the J series might be one for me to avoid as I much prefer a substantial feel to my razor. A Paul Revere or F series might be nice?

The E series with the bakelite handles are excellent and very cheap.
When I got mine it was filthy and had a blade in the chamber that was partially rusted. I was able to get the blade out by inserting the key from a cartridge and slowly pushing the old blade out without inserting a new blade. Then it was Scubbing Bubbles time. Came out very nicely. Shaving with a dirty razor is risky in my mind.

My vote goes to the hydromagics, either the I2 or the Golden 500.
I was not that thrilled with the Chinese blades. The PFTE coated Personna blades work better for me. Connaught has the best price on those, I just got 100 of those as well as 100 regular SE blades (same as "pella"s).

If you can get your hands on a Schick Adjustable Injector try one. It'll give you the chance to try one going from mild to aggressive. I like mine.

I have three E series injectors. I'd be willing to give you one Ben if you want. You'd have to grab some blades, as I am out at the moment. But if you are serious about wanting one I've got one for you. I think I have two E2s and one E4. Think they all shave the same, though I've only tried the one I was PIFed from Dave.

Let me know.

Actually one of the E series may be a G1. The handle looks the same to me, but on one of mine, the spring is fixed in the middle, not the ends like the E series are. Anyway. We could work something out for sure.
