I purchased a Petree Vie Long Horsehair brush from Phil at Bullgoose and am very happy with the rover style handle and the stiffness and feel of the horsehair bristles. It's a very nice brush. But it is a "dense" brush and does not seem to release lather as well as, say, my Semogue 830 (which also has a higher loft). Will this change as I break it in more? I've used it probably around 15+ times and it seems about the same. The lather that I squeeze from the brush toward the end of a shave (using my hands) is awesome! But I can't seem to get that lather to "release" from the brush during the shave.

Not a big issue, just wondering if there is something I can do or if I just need to wait and give it a few more weeks.

Agree -- it breaks in over about a thirty shaves (TBH, I wasn't counting, but it took me about two and half months... and I use it a almost every other day). I soak mine each time. Seems to soft a bit, too.

Great brush.

Like the other guys said; be patient, it'll come around. You'll be glad you hung in there.

Thanks guys. It seems to work well with my Proraso soap v. creams. I see this one in the regular rotation for sure!
