I'm looking for any feedback on Trumper's Tallow based soaps. I have heard alot of great things about them. I do not currently have any Trumper products. Which scent is the best to go with? I understand opinions will vary.

They are excellent. I have only tried the Violet, Rose, Sandalwood and Limes and all of them smell wonderful. Good luck finding them!

I highly recommend the Coconut -- not for the scent (as my sense of smell is not very good), but for the performance. The extra coconut oil makes the soap uber-good IMO.

All of the scents are great. Because they are hard to find I would suggest grabbing whichever one that you can. My favorite is probably the Sandalwood but, they are all very good.

Yes, this thread begs the question of where you are finding Trumper tallow-based shaving soaps!

I am pretty sure the current production Trumper soaps are not tallow based.

Since 2008 Trumper soaps are without tallow. However , the first "veggie" based soaps (from 2008-2010) made a lather like the old tallow based ones.I know that since I had tallow and the first vegie based ones , and but the scent , the lather was superb. The current Geo F Trumper soaps , from 2011 , simply are impossible to lather.

I sold some Trumper tallow based soaps not long ago and people who got them are enjoying them so much. I know why , theyre superb soaps.I wish that Trumper could find a soap maker which could deliver the great quality of the old soaps , both tallow and "first" veggie based.

Yea, verily! I have a bit of the non-tallow but good Trumper rose, and it is very nice, indeed! But when it is gone, I am afraid it is gone. Replacement will be ???????

You really wanna know which Trumpers soaps are the best?

The ones that say D.R. Harris on them.

That I thoroughly agree with! Except none of the D.R. Harris says "rose" - at least yet.

They do have some pink aftershave for you.

I had heard that the Pink had been changed over to lilac rather than rose, but I haven't tried either the old or the new formulas. Does anyone know if that's the case?

They have the milk and the shave cream in rose. I thought the pink AS was rose scented too.

I do remember reading on one of the forums in the last year or so that the formulation for "pink" had indeed changed, and that it was no longer rose. Do not remember what it became. Don't use it.

You got me thinking so I was looking for Rose soaps.

Not much to be had. A couple Artisan soaps and the Trumpers.

Who is the Swedish? German? Soap maker? She can make Tallow soaps upon request.

Not sure about the artisan you are thinking of. Klar Kabinett (now gone) has a rose scent. But when I need to replace my Trumper rose soap I am going to give very serious consideration to Queen Charlotte Soaps Rose Otto! A seriously deep rose which reminds me of TOBS rose cream.

I haven't forgotten and I'm gonna try and figure out who that soap maker is. I remember her reputation was second to none.

You might be thinking of Saint Charles Shave, which produces a Bulgarian Rose soap that is supposed to be quite excellent. Its founder, Sue, sadly passed away a few years ago from cancer.

Back on-topic - The best tallow Trumper soap for me was Violet! I'd trade just about anything I own to get another bowl of that...it was absolutely wonderful!
