There is a song on "youtube" by Zucherro called "pane e sale" (bread and salt) I think it might just be the best song in a foreign language I have EVER heard, absolutely beautiful, I just wish I spoke ITALIAN.If you need a lift this will change your outlook on life.

You do not need to understand the words to a Great Song because Great Music has a language all its own.

How else can Opera be so popular outside of Italy?

Claus, thanks for those I'm sure unwarranted kind words,it's a song I have had in my favourites for a long time,I dip into it every now and again if I need a bit of a lift.I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
Thanks again.

After visiting Venice, and seeing just how amazing the Italian women are,,... Olive skin, tall, curvaceous, dark eyes,.. Sandy blonde to full on brunette,,... I too can say "I wish I spoke Italian". Simply amazing no matter their station in life. And unlike the men & women in the states you can see they are mostly of Italian blood.

Even the women in Paris paled in comparison. Not even close.

I'm not much for opera, but every once in a while I hear a piece of opera that's so incredibly beautiful and powerful that I too wish I at least understood Italian or had the translation in print.

But the music is what draws me. I might be disapointed in the sung meaning.
