Hello Gents,

I returned from vacation yesterday and in the bundle of my held mail was an anxiously awaited package from the U.K. In the package was my brand new Morris & Forndran 2XL in the "Disco" rod stock with 3 band super Silvertip. This funky brush has a 28mm knot and a 50mm fan loft for pure face lathering goodness.

I have been wanting to obtain a brush (or brushes) in this rod stock for quite some time now after seeing several of them from different members and manufacturers. I really enjoy the different and vibrant coloring and adds a nice flair to my den which already is loaded with the traditional ivory and butterscotch colored brushes.

I had never ordered directly from Lee Sabini however I have owned and used several of his brushes and enjoyed them thoroughly. So I decided to take the plunge and contacted Lee for this bespoke brush. I wrote to Lee and received a response the following morning with his recommended loft, manufacturing time, etc...I didn't think twice about placing the order and a few hours later payment was made and the process began.

Now for all the knocks that Lee sometimes receives on the forums as it pertains to communication, I can honestly tell you that I had no issues with him and usually received responses between 24-48 hours. From the time of my first email to the time I received my brush was 4 weeks which IMO is outstanding turnaround for something that is custom made to your specs. Lee is a pleasure to do business with and will certainly order some more brushes from him.

I chose his 3 band super as I really enjoy the soft tips like the Simpson Super but also has the backbone I like to face lather soaps and or creams. It is not the gel tip like tips from his 2 Band Heritage hair of years past or the current 2 band Simpson hair but a real nice balance. With the 28mm knot I requested, Lee suggested the 50mm loft for improved flow through and splay while still having enough backbone for my tastes.

I am very pleased how the brush turned out and exceeded my expectations in every way. I used it for today's SOTD and was very happy with the performance....Soft tips, scrubby yet no scritch, tears up hard soaps and releases the lather with ease.

The pics below were taken this morning before my SOTD however the brush had a shampoo and test lather done last night. Hope you enjoy them and thanks for reading my post.

Yes, the vividly colored brushes definitely seem to be 'in style' these days.

There's something still 'classic' and appealing with the traditional plain ones too.

All are beautiful in their own way! Biggrin
