This is a question which is hard for most of us RAD addicted collectors but based on years of experience, several thousand dollars of investment....my choice would be the Merkur Progress based on cost, adjustability, customization possibilities and naturally shaving results. Throw in handle choices..regular and long, balance and take-a-part fun. I like collecting and I have been lucky to be able to buy any razor I wanted (except the IKON Slant)...and yes I do have the Classic Cobra which I also like a lot.The up and coming HuntLee is on my radar as well. But for now if I could have only 1 razor for me at this time it would be the Merkur Progress ( I have 5)1 Mergress,1 long handle IKON knobed,1 Elite razor custom quartz,1 first issue ,and 1 "back up'hahahahahahahahahah...anyway just my Sunday point of view.

I have only used the Cobra classic twice, so it will be the rest of the week to see if it can dethrone my Weber Polished.

If I could only have one DE razor, well as a matter of fact, that's all I own is one.

No problem for me: Weber DLCs + UFO U2V1 handles.
It has been my only razor for almost one year, now, and things won't change after trying over 100! Biggrin

Easy.

Weber. PH, ARC, or DLC. They all shave nearly the same. Excellently!

Enjoy your Sunday.

I get the closest shave with my Weber. The DLC is typically loaded with a Gillette Black while the ARC gets a Super Iridium. I sold the PH but it gave consistently superb shaves like my other two Webers.

at this point, it would be my Merkur 39c slant. The Cobra is creeping up on that spot though. Also, I fully intend to try the Ikon and Tradere slants whenever they become available. Maybe my 39c will be supplanted then.

EverReady Streamline loaded with a Feather "spineless" SE blade.

While the Cobra & OCMM get me the closest shaves I am picking the Streamline for comfort. Both comfort in my hand & on my face. I can easily use this razor daily with zero concern. The threat of too close of a shave is very real with both the Cobra & OCMM so I wouldn't want to have them be my absolute only razor.

Only one, that's tough!

I was going to choose the Cobra Classic, but that's not really a DE now is it?

Currently I think I'd have to go with my Mergress XL...
