I have been using Kai Mild blades and loving them for the past few weeks in the newly purchased Cobra and getting the best shaves ever with a BBS almost always every time. I think I got a bad blade finally with the one I popped in yesterday as the shave was less than close. Tried the Arko soap today as it always gives me a great shave this morning and the same result, a not so close shave. Are bad blades a common thing or just a random result of a bad batch?

A dud is bound to come up with any machine made, mass produced item. Bad blades do pop up from time to time, but it's usually a fairly uncommon thing.

With the Feather Professional blades, I tend to run into a bad blade app. 1/20 ie once per box. I can tell right away in terms of skin irritation during and post-shave, and have learned to cut my losses and toss the blade right away. It's strange how it's a random phenomenon ie the rest of the box is fine. Huh

This has been my experience as well. At first, I continued to use the blade thinking it would mellow out. I learned my lesson and now toss it immediately.

After two uses I will be tossing the Kai Mild out then. I guess on to the next blade, although recently I have been a sucker for getting max performance and cost out of everything.Biggrin I guess my using of the Arko will make up for itTongue

Ravi, is correct! i went through three Cobras and was not "chosen", but not by the Serpent, but those darn blades! No smoothness at all! Blush
i love the design of the Cobra, but not with those blades. Maybe i should petition the DE blade manufacturers to extend their DE blades! Biggrin

Upon advice from Ravi and Phil, I ditched the Kai Mild and put a new one in this morning. What a shave! I had almost came to the conclusion that the first few weeks of shaving with this thing was to good to be true. The Kai Mild provided a close, smooth, irritation free shave. I know at some point I will try those Feather Pro blades, but I just can't see when with the great shaves that the Kai is giving me at this point.
