On this date in 1965, Sonny and Cher's I Got You Babe hit number one on the charts. One of those horrible songs that gets stuck in your head and won't go away....

It was not that bad. Brings back good memories. Still remember her speaking at his funeral. Even tho they were divorced, she was still deeply in love with him.

It was the perfect song for Phil Connors (Bill Murray) to hear over and over and over in his endless life loops in the film Groundhog Day.

I have to say that the song was not that bad for it's time and it does bring back good memories.

But, I am not as old as Johnny.Biggrin

That song was of it's day, Cher was at her most lovely (before the ridiculous plastic surgery), and the fact that it brings back pleasant memories makes it fun to listen to again. Thanks for a look back, John; I enjoyed that. Winky
