For me,"this is" the safety razor. The ultimate safety razor in design, style, finish, balance, weight etc.Its "the safety razor",period.
And what does it makes it so special for me?
Well, first of all,I love/adore Edwin Jagger/Muhle safety razors and how they always provide me an outstanding shave,it doesn't matter what model use, always gives me the best shaves out there, with the balance of smoothness and closeness.
They all use the same closed comb head, which its the weapon of massive destruction for my facial hair. This closed comb head was even improved in 2010,for what I understand, and perfection,or at least to me,was reached. As I said, you can get a smooth, close shave with no putting in jeopardy your skin.
This safety razor has the most elegant style of all the Edwin Jagger ones, and there are really elegant, stilish razors made for them, like the DE8911 Barley, the Plaza, the DE89L and others, but this one its the most fashionable and refined of all (at least, for me is).
Just check its curves, its polished finish and the timelessness of his style :
If we also add a perfect balance and right, heavy weight (according to the Edwin Jagger site, 110 grams, according to my electronic weight, 116 grams) we are in front in one of the best safety razors out there with no shadow of a doubt.
I do like how the handle has a slightly curved on the middle, which makes to held this razor, easier. Also I like its delicate knurling, different than the one used in the DE89L,which is more highlighted than this one.
Yes,I do love this razor.Im in love with it! ha ha and sometimes I wonder, when Edwin Jagger ceases its production, would they become the Gillette Aristocrat razors of the future and well pay even more for them?Well,I dont know, but I can see this razor being an object of cult.
Its not a cheap razor, since its cost its around 110 bucks, but its a luxurious razor, well made, hefty and with a style that many love.
I think its time to shave today, and I know what razor Im gonna use.

Beautiful razor, Tieste! i have a DE89 that was my first DE razor, now relegated to my son when he is ready to shave. Also, had the Bulbous and i think the EJ are one of the best looking razors, but i just wish they would make an open-comb.
