Here are a couple pics of the collection after about 6 months. A little light in the brush category, but (k)not for long (got an Ever Ready handle that I'll be inserting a 22mm 2-band from TGN into this week). Also, the plastic case with the red top contains Pens BB soap and the Pyrex with the green lid contains MWF (perfect fit, actually).

Not included are a bunch of blades and another bunch of cream/ASB/AS/blade samples graciously gifted by another member here. Thank!

Nice! Do I also see an ABC set beside the bowl or is it just the case? If you're like a lot of us, let me congratulate you on your start! Biggrin

Sorry, not familiar with what an ABC set is. The case had the Gillette New Long inside. I've seen similar cases stamped by Gillette on the back, but this one is blank.

Ah, got it. The ABC or "Pocket Edition" sets, if my collector memory serves, were from Gillette's Old Style era before the NEW was released. I believe the handle is from an Old Style razor though. No matter, all are great razors and the NEW is my all-around favorite by far. Enjoy!

Nice assortment of creams and razors. Shaving should be fun with the options you have. You need at least one brush for every razor, don't you think?

Well...my 22mm finest 2-band knot should arrive today, so the brush should be ready for use tomorrow morning. Also, just ordered 100 labs and 100 meds. I've got an amazon gift card from work, so an order for a Simpson Commodore x2 isn't completely out of the question. Debating adding a Fatip to the collection. Anyone got one that can tell me how it compares to the vintage Gillettes?

Other than the RS Co. (used more as a face wash now than for shaving), can't really complain about any of my soaps/creams. I know the new formulation of the Pen's BB gets a lot of flack, but since I can't compare to the original, it works fairly well for me and smells great. I will admit, every once in a while (rarely), if the BB lather isn't working for some reason, I will add a touch of the T&H No.10 since it has a light scent. Works like a charm.

I was thinking that if he got a couple more brushes he would have a decent sized travel kit Wink

You are off to a good start with lots of quality products. What's your favorite cream or soap?

Nice Nook on short notice. Doesn't look like its only been 6 months. I'd like to ear your thoughts on the TGN Finest. That's one knot I've not tried yet that I'm very curious about. Thanks for sharing your photos.
