I never shave in cold water, but if I have to and I have time I heat a cup of water so I can dip the head of my razor in,I find it far more comfortable than a cold water shave with a cold razor, that's no fun at all.
Jack.

While I enjoy warm shaves, there is a pretty large group here that swear by cold water shaving.

If you want a really warm razor ... take a Gem Razor and warm it up the same way.

The thicker SE blade will stay warm (or hot) longer than the standard DE blade.

Funny, I add ice to my water basin because my tap isn't cold enough in the summer.

Can't stand shaving in warm (let alone hot) water.

To each his own!

I rinse my razor with hot water between passes to keep it warm.

I've been keeping all my splashes in the freezer with this new to me Charleston heat and humidity.

That's what I find too Grumpy. Just a short time in the warm basin of water, hot water in the winter, and the razor is nice and warm.

Call me soft, but too many cold or ice water shaves when the ambient temps were the same, during FTXs, and out of a steel pot, cured me for life of ever wanting to do that again. That was a long time ago and another life.

I tried shaving with cold water, but it just felt too strange... Maybe I'll give it another go sometime soon. Rolleyes

The trick is to use cool water, not cold water Wink

But in winter I'll hold the razor under the hot water for a few seconds before shaving, to get it closer to body temperature.
