I finally tried this shave soap today. I have to say it was a very pleasant experience. The soap lathers up like a dream, and I really love the scent. (I know some people are put off by the scent, but I really like it.)
It produced a great deal of lather in my bowl and the shaving experience was very enjoyable. Good cushion and good slickness. I am very impressed by this vintage soap. So much so, that I went and purchased another puck to have as back up because it is no longer in production. If you have tried this soap, please share your experience with it. If you are thinking about getting it, I highly recommend it.

I have this soap in my regular rotation. Although I don't truly love it (the way I do the equivalent vintage aftershave), I do find the scent very pleasant. For me it lathers quite well, about the same as vintage Yardley, Aramis, and Palmolive.

I have one of these soaps also. Great performer, great scent, what more can you ask for? Smile

Availability, of course - it is hard to get, as it is discontinued. Sad

A nice tallow based soap. i have used this soap as part of my rotation for the past couple of years now. The scent of the soap is strong enough to linger after the shave. The vintage aftershave is a nice complement to the soap.

I never noticed that the soap was made in the US.

Wonder who made it?

Was there a non-tallow version of Safari?

Whoever made it, it was a good one. After using it again a couple times I snagged a couple extra pucks as backups.Tongue
