The past two shaves, I felt a little RANDI and grabbed my Cadet Open Comb. I rarely shave with her. She was prone to attack with profuse bloodletting. Some may remember my post on how cream with LOTS of glycerin or lanolin did best. Three days ago I used my home brew shave oil with only one minor nick beneath my chin. This morning, I think I opened up the previous nick while using NUKA. That is it. Cold water sealed her right up. I never thought I'd see this day.
I believe that as the strength and dexterity in my right hand is returning, I am able to hold the razor better and stroke with it better thereby getting clooooose shaves and fewer and fewer nicks.
Here's to better technique.

Well done! The Cadet OC is one of my favorite razors. She definitely has an attitude though.

My Cadet OC gives a lovely shave, but can be unforgiving if my technique is sloppy... I'm trilled to hear she's being nice to you Biggrin

Sounds Great. It is always nice to be able to get a good shave from an Open Comb.

What do you find are the benefits of using a open comb vs. a safety bar?
