Polsilver, SI, GSB are all superior.

As with everything, ymmv, but I agree. Feathers are sharp, but very rough for me (thus why I was considering trying the blacks and thinking they were different).

SIs are my favorite blade by a long shot.

Are "SIs" Super Iridiums, which are the same as Polsilvers? I'm curious about your favorite blade.

Well I've ordered a pack of these mystical blades to see what tge fuss is all about. In my extremely limited experience I've found my Wilkinson sword blades to do the job nicely but we shall see!

You will want to go very light on the pressure. Don't tug the razor.

I think this is why some people get a negative experience from this blade.

You can't treat it like you would the average blade.

The myth is overblown in my opinion. It IS SHARPER and a little respect will reward you with a great shave. Smile

Feathers are definitely a YMMV item. For me no other blade I've tried us as smooth. It's only the price that stops me using them exclusively.

nope, they are different. the POLSILVER and Polsilver SI are different.

the Polsilver is close to Astra but lasts longer.

the Polsilver SI and SI are sharper.

all 3 work great for me in my Slim and it's just a matter of which I pull out of my box as to which I use.

i wasn't sure either when I saw them all a while back: http://shavenook.com/thread-polsiver-pol...difference

I don't want to get into the whole 'which blade is better' argument, but I do find that Feathers work best for me.

I've tried the rest, SI's (I still have entire carton somewhere), MedPreps, a few Polsilvers, etc. and they've all been nice. However, since I prefer using a milder razor, I've honed my technique to work well with those razors and the Feather blades.

They aren't going to work for everyone, of course, and I think they're to be avoided in aggressive razors, but they work for me. Smile

I don't know the reason for different packing but I believe them to be the same blade???
As for the 5 and 10 pack theory I have bought lots of 5's and 10's here in the UK and always yellow packing. I've not had any in the black packing actually
