Proyet Time in Grenadilla Wood (African Blackwood)

My friend Proyet has made for me this brush in grenadilla wood. The handle base is square and he has given it a way as if the handle was twisted. The finish is polished and shining, without any layer of varnish, and he has installed the knot of 26 mm diameter and 54 mm loft. I am delighted. The brush is lovely and very ergonomic.

Specs

Handle
Square base of 36 x 36 mm
Top is 31 x 31 mm
Height 59 mm

Knot
Finest Badger Two Band 26 x 54 mm

Total height of the brush 113 mm
Total weight 100 gr.

Wow ... that is a very unique and interesting brush, Juan. It has a modern traditional look to it ... nice wood material. Smile

The twisted theme would make this handle a great accompaniment to the slant razor! Biggrin

Yes, the new iKon slant head with UFO Tornado, and my Proyet Time Brush, ha ha. But I do not have any UFO Tornado. Damnit.

Now I am thinking in another twisted brush to the other side, but in multicoloured Dymondwood! Humm, matter of time.

Hello friends. Today I first used the brush that my friend Proyet made for me. Handmade passionately in Spain. The Grenadilla wood, when wet, has a fantastic touch. Not absorb water. The knot is very, very good. With soft gel tips, but with the backbone that I like. I am surprised for the quality. The diameter of the crown is now about 70 mm. Here you have a couple of pictures after bloom.

That is a lovely and original brush! Do you know what type of finish he put on the wood? To protect it from the water? Thank you for your input, Kristin

No varnish, no coating, nothing more that sanding and polishing with polishing paste. This wood has excellent moisture repellent qualities.

Take a look at wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalbergia_melanoxylon

Magnifying of Dr. Dulcamara is a terrible torture instrument.

If you can pass the quality control of this jeweler's loupe, you have half of the gates of heaven open ... ha ha ha

A greeting.

By the way, congratulations to Proyet, because I know very well that wood, and is of the same family as African Ebonys, ensuring a hardness proof chisels, sandpaper and chisels.

A very good job, but, by putting a but, I think it lacks a good coat of carnauba wax to shine a mirror.

I'll send a patch to bring out muscle arm waxing, polishing wax. Dal cela pulil cela, dal cela, pulil cela, as the master of karate kid...

ja ja ja

A hug
