My latest, and probably my last, strop has finally arrived. It's from Neil Miller, who built it exactly as I requested.
It's Shell Cordovan, 2 1/2 inches wide with a 22+ inch length stropping surface. Natural Linen is the second component, as it should be! The leather is soft and supple, with a luxurious look and feel. The draw on this strop is simply superb .. better than another Shell strop I had been experimenting with.
Engraved Stainless Steel Dee rings at both ends complete the package. One at the hanging end so both components have the ability to "float" in tension.

I could not be happier with it, and a "tip o' the hat" to Neil Miller for superior craftsmanship ... And execution..

I think I'm in love!!

Oh, yes, Neil Miller strops are superb. I have one of his shell cordovan strops and it is as you say. Neil not only is a master craftsman, he is a fascinating person to talk to. If you get the chance, please read the interview I did with him on SRP. What a gentleman.

Yes Neil does make exceedingly good strops, and can be the font of all knowledge when it comes to straight razors, and the reason I refer to him as the Time lord!

I would love to have a strop like that! I bought a Puma from him a few years back, and wasn't even aware of his many talents until a little later. The Puma came with a very nice soft pouch that he made. I wish I hadn't sold the razor, and I'm really glad I kept the pouch! In the course of the sale of the razor, he and I had a pleasant conversation, and I remember thinking "what a nice guy".
