It's a pretty short story. Phil at BullGoose sold me one of these:

He sent it to Eric Maier and I hope to get one of these shipped to me:

Along the way, in one of Phil's confirmation emails, I clicked a link that directed me to The Shave Nook. It's a nice place to be.

Cool

Phil and Eric obviously know each other the transfer was seamless and according to the tracking number mine is at Eric's shop today. By the way, I didn't do in depth research but Phil's price was better than many I had checked. Good job BullGoose.

Johnny suggested I join The Shave Nook on March 6th. Then I bought a Semogue 1250 boar brush from Phil on March 13th, so that's the day I joined up. Smile

My Mergress arrived today. It's beautiful and the work seems to be very high quality. I look forward to using it. Sorry about the finger prints it actually looks much better than my pictures.

Sweet looking razor you have there! Is that the brush you made for your son? Very nice. We may have to get together on a brush project! LOL

Thank you. Yes, there are actually 2 brushes there. One is my son's and the other is it's twin but is not engraved. I made one for me and love it. It has been used and has bloomed. I was taking pictures of his brush for a different thread I had started so I used the same picture and the other brush as a rest for the razor. I'm not much of a photographer these days but I had been asked to show what I was talking about in several threads. I just did it all at once. If you need a 24 mm Forstner bit, I have one.

I had wanted a Mergress for some time. I finally got one about 10 days ago. I must say Eric's work is impeccable. I like virtually everything about this razor and dare I say it, it might be on the way to becoming my favorite.

I have several other of what most shavers would consider to be nice razors. I have a couple of Muhles (41 & 89 Grande), a couple of Merkur's (43C, 89 and Futur), an EJ 89 and several other decent pieces.

I was surprised as I had read the opposite but I've found the audible feedback to meet or exceed my Futur's. I've tried a bunch of settings but am liking this set in the mid range. It's a nice razor and just works for me. I would tell anyone that is seriously considering this razor to pull the trigger. No regrets here.
