Hey All,

I'm got a hankerin' to buy a new razor I've currently had good shaves with an EJ86 and a 34HD (have since sold it). I was thinking about buying a Weber PH; can anyone comment on how it shaves comparing it to a EJ86/34HD?

Thanks!

The Weber PH is a very good razor. The head design is precisely similar to the Merkur 34C/HD, but it is stainless steel.
i have found it to be a bit more aggressive than the 34C and also than the EJ86-89 series of razors.
i highly doubt you will be disappointed by this razor as it is a great value for the money. Good luck. Smile

The Weber PH is my daily shaver now coming from the EJ86. It is quite a bit more aggressive than the EJ but after adjusting to this change, it is quite comfortable and very nice. It was a lot heavier than I was expecting when I first got it, but now it feels just right! I highly recommend it.

Dropped my 89 and broke it. I was never real happy with it, preferring 40's SS and Krona. I replaced it with a Weber and now never use anything elce. Very clse and very comfortable. Comfort is important, I don't need a razor to abuse me. I have a wife.

Can't go wrong with a Weber. I had been using an EJ head on my Weber bulldog handle but after seeing all of the SOTD with a Weber I went back to my DLC and oh my. What a wonderful shave. The DLC is now my daily driver.

I think you should absolutely buy one. My two favorite razors are my EJ DE86 and my Weber. It would make sense you would like the Weber too.

The Weber Polished is an extremely efficient and very comfortable shaver. As Celestino said, for the money you really can't go wrong with a Weber!

I just had my first shave with my new Weber PH w/ a Bulldog handle...

This razor is awesome! It's such an effective razor. I almost didn't need two passes. I know it's just the first shave, but it already leaves me with a good impression and confidence.

Buy it. You owe it to yourself.

Thanks guys. I've really been eyeing the Weber PH, the new iKon that'll be released later this year and something from ATT.

Hopefully soon i'll pull the trigger and join the Weber club.

I only had the older Weber with the DLC head but I would imagine that the polished head is just as good. I currently own and use a Weber bulldog handle which I consider as good as any.

Had one and sold it. It is nicely made and has a nice heft.
The difference in shave compared to Merkur, for me, was marginal.
If you like the Merkur style head and want a stainless razor instead of pot metal i suppose it makes sense.
Shave-wise, i prefer my Tradere SB or my open combs (Gillettes, Fatip and Cadet).
As for the material, i actually prefer a plated brass razor because blades tend to rust inside stainless steel razor and the rust sticks to the razor and is very hard to clean.

I'm not that versatile when it comes to razors. I've only used vintage Gillettes, a Schick Krona, a Schick Injector, a Parker 99r, and now the Weber PH Bulldog.

Nowadays, I'm starting to lean more towards my Krona and now it looks like the Weber will be taking over for awhile.

I am drooling over the iKon Slant too.

I'm currently using an EJ86 and I like it very much but I want to try other razors. I've used a Merkur 34HD and found the shave to be just as good as the EJ86 that I currently use. What I didn't like about the 34HD was that the end of the razor felt a little heavy, and I had become so accustomed to my EJ that it felt odd. I sold it off, but I'm debating buying another one, going for an iKon SB, the Weber or other stainless razor.

I love the ATT designs, but the razors are too expensive for my budget. I've got the itch to buy something new, I just dont know what.

+1. It's slightly more aggressive than the 34C and 89. The Weber is a bargain....

I would highly recommend this razor to you !
It is the best DE razor non Gillette I have used.
It is not too mild, well balanced and gives great audible feedback as you are shaving. Not to mention it is well made and reasonably priced. It would not surprise me to see this razor selling for over 100 dollars in the near future due to it popularity !!
